The estate
Château La Perrière is a family-run estate in Bordeaux AOP, near Saint-Émilion. This is appellation-controlled Bordeaux — the wine has to meet strict rules on grape selection, yields and winemaking, the same standard that has protected the region's reputation for decades.
The 2022 is Merlot-led, which is where the plush blackcurrant and plum fruit and the soft tannins come from. It drinks well now and will keep to 2035.
The critics have already done the homework: 91 points from James Suckling, 89 from both Jeff Leve and VertdeVin, recognition from Guide Hachette and a medal at the Lyon Wine Competition.
